Terms of Service

These Terms of Service (the "Terms") constitute a binding agreement between you (the "Member" or "you") and Walkingman (business registration number 7500703149, address [Business Address], also referred to as "engles" or the "Company"), which operates the engles service. By purchasing a pass or using the engles website and platform (the "Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms.

1. Description of Service

engles is a digital learning service offering one-on-one tutoring-style English learning programs for elementary and middle school students. The engles Pass — which includes a ZPD-based curriculum and an English reading program co-developed by specialists from Yonsei University and Seoul National University — is sold as a one-time purchase. Upon payment, access instructions are sent to the email address provided at checkout. The Pass grants lifetime access with no recurring subscription fees.

2. Eligibility and Account

The Service is intended for students who wish to learn English and for parents or guardians purchasing a pass on behalf of a student. Individuals under the age of 18 may only use the Service with the involvement and consent of a parent or legal guardian, who must accept these Terms on their behalf. Members are responsible for maintaining the security of their account credentials and for all activity that occurs under their account.

3. Purchase and Delivery

• The engles Pass is a one-time purchase at the price displayed at checkout. The full amount is shown before you confirm your order. There are no recurring charges or subscriptions to cancel.
• Once payment is confirmed, access instructions will be sent to the email address provided at checkout, typically within a few minutes. It is the purchaser's responsibility to provide a valid email address.
• If you do not receive the access instructions, please check your spam folder and contact support@engles.co.kr for assistance.
• Applicable taxes are calculated and collected by Paddle at the time of purchase.

4. Refunds

Refunds are handled in accordance with our Refund Policy, which forms part of these Terms. Because Paddle acts as the Merchant of Record, refund requests are reviewed and processed through Paddle.

5. Prohibited Use

Members must not:

• Share, resell, or sublicense account access or learning content
• Copy, scrape, or redistribute learning materials, curricula, or any other content owned by the Company
• Reverse-engineer, disrupt, or attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service
• Use the Service for any unlawful or fraudulent purpose

The Company reserves the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or that pose a security or fraud risk.

6. Intellectual Property

All content within the Service — including learning content, curricula, software, text, and branding — is owned by engles or its licensors and is protected by applicable intellectual property laws. The Company grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the learning materials solely for your own personal educational purposes. You may not share, resell, or redistribute any materials.

7. Disclaimers

engles is an independent learning content provider and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by any specific school, examination body, or admissions program. Any guidance on learning outcomes represents estimated projections for reference purposes only; we do not guarantee specific grades, test scores, or results. To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Company shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for any loss of data, profits, or learning outcomes arising from use of the Service. In all cases, the Company's total aggregate liability for any claim shall not exceed the amount you paid for the Service in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim.

9. Changes to These Terms

The Company may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be posted on this page with a new "Last updated" date, and we will provide additional notice where required. Your continued use of the Service after any changes take effect constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.

10. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Korea, without regard to its conflict of law principles. Any disputes shall be subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of the Republic of Korea, except as otherwise required by applicable consumer protection law.
